All-New 500+ Horsepower Hurricane I-6 Engine is Coming to the Jeep, Ram, and Dodge Lineup

With the announcement of a new 500+ horsepower Hurricane I-6 engine joining all lineups, performance will never look the same. While many vehicles in the Jeep, Ram, and Dodge lineups are leaning towards hybrid and electric powertrains, it’s the new Hurricane engine that’s sure to excite drivers that want a strong engine that excites at every RPM. While it’s not entirely clear which vehicles it will be offered on, we expect to see it in the Ram 1500, Dodge Durango, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and others, providing you with a more commanding experience behind the wheel on all your trips around Baytown, TX and beyond.

What is the New Hurricane Engine?

The new Hurricane engines will be a family of twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter I-6 offerings with both standard output and high output versions. The standard output engine is slated to offer mode than 400-horsepower and 450 pounds-feet of torque, with up to 5,800 rpm, delivering an aggressively strong performance that you can enjoy all around Pearland, TX. The high output version will offer more than 500-horsepower and more than 475 pounds-feet of torque, while maxing out at 6,100 rpm.

Both figures achieve similar outputs to the current V8 Hemi engines. It’s also rumored that the Hurricane engine will be paired in a hybrid powertrain, offering additional electric power for even greater performance and accommodations as you drive around Harris County.
